Whether in live productions, photo shoots or on film sets – Oliver Hildebrandt’s specialty is delivering creative, fast and flawless work. His makeup and hair styles have informed personalities and roles in the show and creative scene for more than fifteen years. Although he’s been specializing in theatrical and show makeup over the past few years, he is also frequently booked for photo shoots and film productions.
His career started in 2003, with his training at the Hasso von Hugo Makeup Artist College in Berlin. After receiving his degree in makeup artistry in 2006, he initially began working in the fashion industry. As a makeup trainer for the former Calvin Klein Beauty line, he taught courses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He also worked as a makeup artist for top international brands, including Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.
In 2012, he became the director of the Beauty Department at the Hasso von Hugo Makeup Artist College and revolutionized the course and product selection at the time. It was a special honor, one that he remains grateful for to this day. Oliver later worked with one of the college’s managing directors to create his own beauty line, bma – beauty meets art, which was distributed nationally in Germany. He spent a total of six years as an assistant professor and head of product development. It was during this time that he began to be drawn to live productions and got his first gig as the head makeup artist in Bar jeder Vernuft in Berlin – one of the city’s most renowned and popular cabaret venues.
